Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for peace talks over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine after a request from French President Emmanuel Macron to “bring Russia to its senses”. Despite this, Xi did not suggest that Beijing would use its diplomatic relationship with Moscow to press for a resolution to the conflict. China has previously declared a “no limits friendship” with Moscow and given the Russian government diplomatic support, but it has also tried to maintain a neutral stance. During the meeting, Macron highlighted China’s support for the United Nations Charter, which calls for respect of a country’s territorial integrity, and urged Xi to consider Russia’s violation of international agreements and commitments. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also warned China against sending military equipment to Russia, echoing a warning by NATO member governments. However, the French and Chinese governments did announce several agreements during the meeting, including the purchase of 160 Airbus aircraft by a Chinese leasing company and collaboration on various energy development projects.

one mass murderer Chinese dictator talking to another mass murderer Russian dictator. Neither gives a damn about peace or people, just raw power. Ukraine peace talks are not going anywhere until after the Ukraine counter offensive which will cost some Ukraine lives but absolutely slaughter the Russian/Wagner armies in places. Only Russian withdrawal from Ukraine will stop that from happening. Forget Ukraine "asking" for missiles - send them NOW!
Xi really want's to improve trade relations with the EU, as the relations with U.S. is detoriating.
The EU is more interesting in pushing China to use it's influence on Russia to reignite peacetalks. Meanwhile EU is ready to produce and send 1 million 155 mm. artillery shells over the next 12 months to Ukraine. Also missiles, if Ukraine asks for them.
